simpler times

" Fill er' up, Fred." he says
to the gas station clerk.
"And the windshield, too, Jim?
"Yes, sounds fine, it sure wouldn't hurt"
On the porch, two men talk of simpler times,
times when things were slow
"Amazing." he says "Tell me, Jessie,
where did the years go?"
A group of kids play in the grass
Red Rover and the like.
While two young boys race down dirt roads
Who has the fastest bike?
Years go by and things, they change
like this old filling station.
It's nice to look back and see simpler times
using your imagination.

peaceful

An empty chair
seems so inviting
on a breezy summer day

just to sit for a little while
as cares all drift away

We all need an empty chair
every now and then

God will give that chair to you
and let you give your cares to Him.

carefree

being carefree
is shoeless
on the beach

the day is spent
watching waves

when it's time to leave
you want to stay

being carefree
is shoeless
on the beach

masterpiece

As she studies the painting
what does she see?

Is she inspecting the dog
and the pups by his knee?

Does she like the sky,
shades of orange and of red?

Is she looking at the tree
that reaches overhead?

As her young eyes take it all in
I see a masterpiece not created by men.

your move

"It's your move."
She looks at me.
It's hard to believe
she's only three.

joe's on the beach

We walk the beach
hot sun at our back.

If we get hungry
there's Joe's Crab Shack.

three sisters learning piano

Playing the piano or playing on the piano.....

not sure which it is.

But the sound coming from it is beautiful.....

because it's from our kids.
