A tattered teddy
A button eye.
Symbols of our childhood.
As we look at the years gone by.
Things are so simple
when we are young.
Decisions are so few.
Will we play on the swing today?
I'm not "it", are you?
Let your kids be kids,
and stay young as long as they can.
They'll be older soon enough.
And have the weighty decisions of man.

the path less traveled
Sometimes we must choose
to take the path less traveled
The unpopular one
The one we'll walk alone.
It's the path to greater strength.
A path of integrity.
It's a path of growth and fulfillment.
Of honesty, patience, peace.
Just remember there's a reason
that path is less traveled.
It's not the easy one.
Not for those who go with the crowd.
But the path will lead you
to a place not known
but to those who choose to walk
in the way God's Word has shown.

Just my cup of tea...
So nice of you to stop by just to spend some time with me
Looks like you've brought some snacks as well, just my cup of tea!
Would you like to pet my mane, you can brush it if you please
You can even sit on my back and for a picture I'll say "Cheese"
But first, let's go ahead and eat these carrots
you brought so thoughtfully
After all, they're my favorite snack to have with company.

Holding on...

So afraid to try something new
she says to her mom "I won't go without you."
Her mom reassures her everything will be all right.
Telling her she'll meet new friends and she'll learn to read and write.
"You can do it, my love, you're so very smart.
I'm so proud to be your mommy, I love you with all my heart."
She tells her that she will have so much fun
and that around noon time she gets to eat lunch.
A new lunch box and backpack are finally put to use,
a new skirt, a new shirt and even new shoes.
"Around two-forty five you will hear the bell ring,
you'll say goodbye to your teacher and friends as you pack up your things.
I'll be right here waiting for you with a big hug, kiss and a smile.
So go and enjoy your day, my love, we'll see each other in just a little while."

Eskimo Kiss...

The sound of giggling you'll hear between baby and mama
when they play and rub their noses on each other
the sweet warm breath from baby on mama's face
is the air that she can inhale forever
the joy that is given from such a simple & very precious moment
can leave someone quite speechless
it can be such an overwhelming feeling of love
that may sometimes be better explained by just a kiss...
